Publication Ethics
Ethics of scientific publications is a system of norms of professional behavior in the relationships between authors, reviewers, editors, publishers and readers in the process of creating, distributing and using scientific publications. The policy of the scientific journal "International Affairs and Politics" of the Sorbonne Institute-Kazakhstan, KazNPU named after Abai in the field of publication ethics follows the recommendations and standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and takes into account the experience of reputable international journals and publishers. The priority task of the journal is to support compliance with ethical standards both in relation to the circle of authors and among the members of the editorial board, as well as in relations with reviewers, publishers, distributors and readers.
Publication Decision
The editor-in-chief and scientific editor of the scientific journal are independently responsible for making a decision on publication, based on cooperation with the editorial board and the editorial staff of the journal. The scientific content of the work under consideration and its scientific significance should always form the basis for the decision on publication.
Confidentiality
Unpublished data obtained from submitted manuscripts may not be used in personal research without the express written consent of the author. Information or ideas obtained through peer review and related to priority benefits must be kept confidential and may not be used for personal gain.
Editors may reject an article independently, without peer review, if it is considered inappropriate for the scope of the Journal or does not meet the required level of quality. This decision must be made impartially, based solely on the content of the article, and the criteria for such a decision must be clearly communicated to the author. The author(s) of an article in which a violation of the principles, standards and norms of scientific ethics is revealed and proven will not be able to submit the article to the Journal for 1 year.
Manuscript Requirements
Authors of a manuscript are obliged to ensure the reliability of the work performed, as well as an objective judgment about the significance of the research. The data in the work substantiate the accuracy and absence of errors. The work must contain a sufficient number of details and bibliographic references for possible reproduction. False or knowingly inaccurate statements are unacceptable and constitute unethical behavior.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that the work presented is entirely original and, if the work or statements of others have been used, provide appropriate citations.
Plagiarism can take many forms, from presenting another person's work as your own, to copying or paraphrasing substantial portions of another person's work without attribution, to claiming the results of another person's research. Plagiarism in all its forms is unethical and unacceptable.
Unethical behavior includes actions by authors, editors, or publishers related to independent review of their own articles, contractual and pseudo-review, use of agency services to publish research results, falsification of the list of authors, publication of pseudo-scientific texts, transfer of article texts to other journals without the consent of the authors, transfer of authors' materials to third parties, violation of copyright and the principle of confidentiality of editorial processes, manipulation of citations, plagiarism, falsification, and fabrication.
Multiple, redundant, and simultaneous publications
In general, an author should not publish a manuscript, mainly devoted to the same research, in more than one journal as an original publication. Submitting the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal is perceived as unethical behavior and is unacceptable.
Material Errors in Published Works
If the author discovers material errors or inaccuracies in a publication, the author must notify the journal's scientific editor or publisher and work with them to promptly retract the publication or correct the errors. If the editor or publisher receives information from a third party that the publication contains material errors, the author is obliged to retract the work or correct the errors as soon as possible.
