USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT: GLOBAL INNOVATIONS, TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS, AND THEIR OUTCOMES

Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the international experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure road traffic safety. The authors examine advanced foreign models, pilot projects, and the outcomes of their implementation, identifying scientifically grounded recommendations for improving the road traffic safety system in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The effectiveness of AI technologies in managing traffic flows, preventing road traffic accidents, automatically detecting violations, and supporting urban planning has been confirmed by the practices of several countries. The national modernization agenda proposed by the Head of State, which prioritizes digital transformation and public safety, provides institutional and political support for the introduction of AI-based solutions. The findings of the study highlight the relevance of integrating smart city technologies in major cities such as Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent, as well as their strategic importance in reducing the number of road traffic accidents.
